Storyboard - Second Draft

After filming and editing my music video, I found that most of what I had produced looked different to what I had initially planned - for example, the video began with clips of the sky and my paper figures, rather than an establishing shot of the park and the people, and I added shots of crowds of people and a girl standing in the park, which were not in my initial plan. I added these because my initial planned shots did not accommodate the length of the song, which was three minutes and thirty-nine seconds. As a result, I had to change some frames so that they matched what was in the video. Here are the pages from the second draft of my storyboard: Having edited the storyboard, I later had to show my music video to the rest of my class so they could evaluate it, writing down what they liked and what could be improved. The images below are photos of the storyboard for my music video - I worked on this after creating the timeline as a way of visualising what would be in it and the order of the footage, with notes on the camera shots & movement, the approximate timings and descriptions of what would happen. I plan to use this tool when I come to creating my music video, so that the images match my ideas and vision for the final product.

After deciding on a song and synopsis, I had to create a timeline with lyrics as well as descriptions of what happens chronologically in the video so I would be sure of what would take place and when it would be placed in the editing/post-production stage, along with approximate placings of the song's lyrics.
